A fun episode with some good dialogue, including K.I.T.T.'s observation when Michael asks where Old Canyon Road goes: "Were I to hazard a guess, I'd say into an old canyon"; and Michael quoting the Lone Ranger on his escape from the Shaggy Buffalo bar.
This was actor James LeGros' first television appearance. He went on to co-star on Ally McBeal.
This episode utilizes two of the Bearfoot monster trucks.
SCRIPT TO SCREEN:
This story bears some resemblance to writer Peter Dixon's earlier contribution to the series, the unfilmed script The Wind Devil. That story (co-written with Knight Rider story-editor Janis Hendler) also involved innocent people being forced off their land by criminals in search of precious oil.
