TRIVIA:

Here we learn more about Devon's love life -- he loved Amelia Clarmont, but she married someone else. In the episode WHITE BIRD he tells a story of how he fell in love in occupied France, although we never learn the identity of that love interest.

K.I.T.T. wonders why Michael never goes undercover as an aristocrat or a count. Michael decides to ask Devon about that.

Joe LaDue also appears in the episode KNIGHTLINES. Dana Elcar went on to co-star in MacGyver. Knight Rider stars Edward Mulhare and Patricia McPherson both went on to make guest appearances on that show.

SCRIPT TO SCREEN:

As the third script written for the second season, the writers still seemed somewhat unsure of April and her relationship with Devon and Michael. In this script Michael and April are presented flirtatiously; Michael wonders if he'll get the chance to see her in a bikini, and Devon is shocked to hear April pay Michael a compliment -- although he's not around to hear it.

Comic relief originally came from a drunk interacting with K.I.T.T. He was eventually substituted for the two bikers that K.I.T.T. attempts to reform.

The SX-411 is described as "awesome, a full-blown attack helicopter, the K.I.T.T., as it were, of helicopters."
