TRIVIA:

The last episode produced for the second season, this show is well-known due to its apparent lack of Michael and K.I.T.T. Here they are relegated to the background chasing missiles across the country; the real story is Dalton's, giving David Hasselhoff time away to prepare for his wedding to actress Catherine Hickland, who would also appear in the next episode to air: LET IT BE ME.

Two years after this episode was produced, Charles Taylor won his own series as unofficial Department of Justice agent David Dalton, the little-known first Knight Rider spin-off Code of Vengeance.

George Murdock previously appeared in the episode RING OF FIRE and would later guest in the TEAM KNIGHT RIDER episode The A-List.

Two other actors previously appeared in the series. Arell Blanton guest-starred in HEARTS OF STONE, while Tom Gilleran appeared in DEADLY MANEUVERS. Chuck Lindsly had bit parts in several episodes.

The fourth Knight Rider novel, The 24-Carat Assassin, was based on this episode.

An amusing note from producer Robert W. Gilmer accompanies the script, regarding alternative scenes: "It has been decided to create a possible alternative demise for the unfortunate Arthur Abrahms. In addition to running down and shooting Arthur like a scared rabbit, we are also going to turn the lethal rocket launcher on him, shoot a rocket at him and run his car off the road. Then we're going to run down and shoot him like a scared rabbit. Hey, no one promised Abrahms a rose garden. That's what he gets for taking one of those cushy government jobs."
