TRIVIA:

Director Harvey Laidman remembers Soul Survivor: "When they originally wrote the script, they had Brian using a mouse to move the car -- I said "Why doesn't he use a joystick?" "What's that?" they said."

A memorable episode, notable for K.I.T.T.'s reaction to being made "portable." It's interesting to point out that whilst driving in Devon's convertible, Michael states that it's "fun driving with the top down," to which K.I.T.T. replies, "If being burned by the sun and buffeted by the wind is your idea of fun." Obviously he changed his opinion by the fourth season.

Ann Turkel's character Adrianne Margeaux returns later in the season in the two-hour special GOLIATH RETURNS; in it, she teams up with Garthe Knight in an effort to trap Michael and K.I.T.T. She also guest stars in the third season story KNIGHT IN RETREAT as another femme fatale, the villainous hostess Bianca Morgan.

The "little TV" is utilized to house K.I.T.T. when repairs are made on the vehicle in later episodes JUNK YARD DOG and KNIGHT OF THE JUGGERNAUT.

The episode opens with Michael playing Pac-Man on K.I.T.T.'s dash; K.I.T.T. makes a reference to the game in the reunion movie KNIGHT RIDER 2000.

Brian Robbins reportedly angered producers by taking K.I.T.T. for a real-life joy ride during the filming of this episode.

SCRIPT TO SCREEN:

The episode was originally to begin with Randy and Adrianne reviewing K.I.T.T.'s schematics in their van.

Randy was originally conceived as a scruffy 17-year-old, with "dishevelled hair and clothing... an old baseball hat riding low on a pair of glasses. The kind of kid who lives and breathes computers."
