September 24, 2008 saw the return of Knight Rider to network television as a weekly series for the first time since 1986!

Following the success of the 2-hour pilot movie that aired the previous February, NBC’s second attempt saw Knight Rider revamped yet again by showrunner Gary Scott Thompson. The series moved away from the more ‘classic’ feel of the pilot movie, and gave us a new and improved ‘Attack Mode’ K.I.T.T., and a much bigger cast – with newcomers Paul Campbell, Smith Cho and Yancey Arias joining the returning Justin Bruening, Deanna Russo, Sydney Tamiia Poitier and Bruce Davison. Val Kilmer returned as the voice of K.I.T.T.

  • Loved the original show and have all four seasons on DVD, on the other side I hated this new show, it realy sucked ! Wrong car, wrong crew, also the voice of K.I.T.T. was absolutly terrible…No sense of humor at all !!

    The only original things I saw where parts of the original K.I.T.T. and David Hasselhoff in the pilot. I remember that in the Knight Rider 2000 movie Micheal Knight got real pissed after he found out about K.I.T.T. parts where sold, I didn’t heared him say anything about that in the new series.

    Also the voice of Peter Cullen for K.A.R.R. was like in the original series but the car itself sucked (just like K.I.T.T.). A Nano-Robot, get real man…Of course the red K.I.F.T. in Knight Rider 2000 wasn’t a Pontiac TransAm either but at least it was a movie with the original voice actor (William Daniels), David Hasselhoff as Micheal Knight and Edward Mulhare as Devon Miles.

    If they do another movie or show on Knight Rider, at least let them bring back The Pontiac (perhaps a newer moder or the original), David Hasselhoff (perhaps some other original crew except for Edward Mulhare because he died in 2000), and the original voice of K.I.T.T. and maybe K.A.R.R. But don’t bring the crap back anymore because my remote started to lead it’s own life when this shit came on my tv !!!
