TRIVIA:

Michael is due in Cincinatti to investigate a case Devon refers to as the "Palmeston affair" -- a con man selling counterfeit Rembrandt paintings to a museum.

At the beginning of this episode, Michael uses K.I.T.T.'s equipment to watch Kim Wilde's music video Go For It.

John Crawford previously appeared in the first season episode A NICE, INDECENT LITTLE TOWN. Grainger Hines also made an appearance in Knight Rider's first season; he can be seen in NO BIG THING. Tom Williams and Cliff Carnel both appeared in the third season; they can be seen in CIRCUS KNIGHTS and THE NINETEENTH HOLE respectively.

In 1989, actress Pamela Bach became the second Mrs. David Hasselhoff. Their marriage ended in 2006.

SCRIPT TO SCREEN:

Writer Paul Diamond was only involved in the first-draft stage of writing, and never saw the final production script.

Significant changes between Diamond's draft and the finished episode include the fact that here Elena never knew that Wayne was her biological father, instead she learned from events in the story. Comic relief came in the form of Bonnie as the race queen, being forced to wear a terrible dress, banner and tiara. K.I.T.T. is equally unimpressed when he is forced to wear decals.

The character of Steve Cochran was originally named Corky Batchelor, while Fredo Lureni was originally known as Paolo Lurani. According to the script, Lureni's boat is called The Bullseye.
