TRIVIA:

This episode features Michael happily remembering the days when he "cruised hamburger joints" in his Chevy, a plot point picked up in the reunion movie Knight Rider 2000.

The Frenchman's aliases include Phillipe Gerard, Yves Gerard, Henri Dore, Guiseppe Albani, Phillipe Rochet and Rafael Dobano.

Judy Landers would later appear in the episode Knight Strike. Fred Lerner also appears in the episode Brother's Keeper. Michael Horsley appears in Season Three's Knight In Disgrace.

This was the most-watched Knight Rider episode of the series when first broadcast in the UK, beating off competition from the major prime-time soaps to come in second in the National Top Ten for the week it was broadcast.

SCRIPT TO SCREEN:

The confrontation between Michael, Jerry and Ray was planned differently on paper. Michael did not hit his head on the rocks, K.I.T.T. sprayed dirt in Ray's face and also, interestingly, activated a four-wheel drive mode to get down the face of the cliff.

Cut scenes include Michael and K.I.T.T. tailing Burns' cab, Michael and Marie Elena spying on Burns' house, and K.I.T.T. telling Michael he can't reach Devon on the way to the equestrian grounds (revealing his computer voice to Micki). Small cuts were made to Michael's capture of the Frenchman (Michael follows the assassin on K.I.T.T.'s monitor, and Micki tells him she's had a very bad week).
