TRIVIA:

Writer Burton Armus: "I did Knight Rider for a year and a half and it was a lot of fun. [David] Hasselhoff was okay, we had thirteen or fourteen cars that would fly in the air and do all that. The stories were very simple; the star of the show was a car. You could write anything you wanted [for K.I.T.T.] and [William] Daniels would deliver it with a great flair. The challenge of that show was not so much the scripts but how to keep a pattern of excitement and action and not go broke. It was a successful show and we had a lot of fun doing it." (From TV Zone Special # 29, 1998).

Alan Oppenheimer previously appeared in the first season episode DEADLY MANEUVERS. Kai Wulff previously appeared in the first season episode GIVE ME LIBERTY... OR GIVE ME DEATH, and Jimmy Murphy guest starred in the episode NO BIG THING.

Charles Picerni is credited as Stunt Co-ordinator for this episode. He previously appeared in the episodes A NICE INDECENT LITTLE TOWN, WHITE BIRD and KNIGHT IN DISGRACE.

SCRIPT TO SCREEN:

Burton Armus' first Knight Rider script is one of the rare examples of a first draft being almost entirely identical to the finished show.

Flood is described as "cold" with "disinterested eyes;" he looks down at the wreck of Sam Dennis' sports car with "a bored, efficient look." Armus writes Grebbs as: "Forties, hard looking, you would not buy a used car from him."
