TRIVIA:

Second season producer Tom Greene was responsible for casting many of the guest stars, including Geena Davis in this segment:

"She was amazingly good, and way above the others in talent and personality and intelligence. I remember thinking she is going to go very far in the business. I also remember at the time she was bemoaning to the director, a wonderfully talented director named Jeffrey Hayden (who is married to Eva Marie Saint) how lonely it was in Los Angeles and how much she would love to find someone to go out with. At the time I had just broken up with my girlfriend, and Jeff came to me and said, 'Why don't you go out with her?'

"I told him that I had a policy never to date people I work with. He kept pushing it, saying she was only working that one week, and when the episode was over, there would be nothing improper about calling her. I stuck to my policy, even after people have worked with me, so I politely said thank you, but I just can't do that. Of course to this day, I keep slamming my head against the wall! To think there was even the slightest chance that I could have had even one date with Geena Davis!!!! (Not to mention that she would probably have been laughing through the whole date since I'm only five feet ten, which means I would only come up to her knee caps!)."

Guest star Jack Starrett also appears in the episodes THE TOPAZ CONNECTION and SKY KNIGHT.

Entertainment Tonight visited the set to cover the filming of this episode.

SCRIPT TO SCREEN:

Janis Hendler's script draws on the plot of the classic Alfred Hitchcock film To Catch a Thief, starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly (from whom Geena Davis' character takes her name).

A brief exchange between Devon, Michael and April detailing Devon's fascination with Raymond Fallan was removed between script and screen. He makes the investigation an official Foundation case, and likens the cat to Robin Hood -- a gentleman thief, robbing the rich to give to the poor... a romantic hero.
